Introduction

Step into the rich heritage of the Himalayas with this immersive cultural and historical experience. If you’re looking for a memorable day trip that combines scenic beauty, traditional architecture, and local village life, the Chehni Kothi excursion is the perfect choice.

Your journey begins with a 7 km drive from Jibhi to Baggi (Sharinga Rishi Temple), followed by a scenic 1.5-hour uphill trek through dense deodar forests, lush apple orchards, and the charming Himalayan village of Chehni. Along the way, you’ll experience the peaceful surroundings and authentic lifestyle of the local mountain communities.

The highlight of the tour is the magnificent Chehni Kothi, a 40–45 metre-high tower built in the traditional Kath-Kuni architectural style, one of Himachal Pradesh’s finest examples of ancient Himalayan craftsmanship. This historic structure stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage and engineering excellence.

Blending nature, history, and local culture, this experience offers a deeper understanding of the traditions and timeless beauty of the Jibhi and Tirthan Valley region.

Note: No prior trekking or hiking experience is required.

Your adventure begins at the Jibhi Adventure Office, where our guide will provide a safety briefing and tour overview. From there, you’ll travel through some of the most picturesque landscapes of Jibhi and Tirthan Valley before embarking on your unforgettable journey to Chehni Kothi.
